Only 3 more hours of 2007! Unbelievable how quickly it has gone! Even more amazing that this time last year, Reagan was busy growing on the inside, and now she's busy growing (and crawling) on the outside!
It's been a few weeks since I've blogged, so here's a quick recap of what's been going on.
Part 1: Christmas Tree Picking
Part 2: Finishing up the semester (there's no picture...if you're interested in this part you'll just have to scroll down.) :)
Part 3: Getting Ready For Christmas
Part 4: Christmas with the Squiers

Part 5: Christmas with the Lambs Part 6: Happy New Year!!
And now, for the long version!
Part 1:
We went and picked out our tree the second weekend of December. We ended up going a little after dark to a tree farm that is just up the street. In hindsight, the tree wasn't the best. I think it may have been sitting for a couple of days. But, in the end, it held ornaments and stayed green, therefore serving it's purpose. Reagan got to use her winter suit and she stayed nice and warm while we decided on which tree was just right.
Part 2:
This semester was a long one! I'm gaining some ground with my students, and getting to know them has been fun. I'm excited to have a fresh start with the second semester, and of course, spending time with Reagan and Jim has been great. I have made some friends at the new school, and I'm starting to feel more at home there.
Part 3:
We went to Bill and Debbie's house on the 23rd to help make Christmas Cookies. Reagan got to try some frosting, but other than that she wasn't too interested in baking...she was much more interested in the presents under the tree!!I got to help my dad shop for Mom's Christmas presents...there's just something that is so fun about shopping with other people's money, even if it's not for yourself!
Part 4:
On Christmas Eve we did the traditional Christmas celebration with my parents; homemade ravioli (which I helped with this year) and old country, traditional style Swedish meatballs. Most of the family was there and it was great to see everyone. My parents got me a sewing machine which is very nice and sews very well. I already bought some patterns and the top of a quilt (with the gracious help of Jim's mom)! I am excited for any excuse to use it, and I'm hoping it will come in handy for clothes for Reagan.
Part 5:
On Christmas day we went to Bill and Debbie's and had lunch. We had to avoid the snowstorm that set in on Christmas morning, but since it meant we got to enjoy a White Christmas, we didn't mind too much. Jim and I were both given money to put towards a dishwasher, which we purchased on the 27th. Jim installed it himself (with a little help from his trusty assistant...me.) We didn't know it when we bought it, but we'll get to use it as a tax deduction because of it's EnergyStar rating! So, I figured it'd only be fitting to put it and our other tax deduction together for a picture...here it is, pre assembly:
Debbie made both Reagan and me quilts; officially inducting us into the Lamb Family. They are both beautiful, as you can see here.

Part 6:
I must have caught a cold at the very end of the semester, because I spent the first week of break recovering from it. I'm fully recovered, and Reagan is too, but now Jim, Mikey, and Julie are all sick. (Debbie is too, but she's in Florida, so I don't think she minds too much!) So, we're staying in and laying low tonight. Speaking of Debbie, she and Bill left for Florida on the 27th in the snowstorm. They are planning to be gone through the end of April. If you'd like to read about their sailing adventures, I've added a link to their blog under the "blogs I read" portion of this page. I showed Reagan a picture of them today, and plan to keep doing so frequently while they are gone. She smiled, so I know she recognized them, even though the picture I picked off the fridge is a couple of years old.
Thanks for reading this EXTRA LONG blog!!
We hope everyone has a safe and happy New Year!
