Ice Storm? In Colorado?

We've had some interesting weather here lately. We were iced in about a week ago, and it was the closest thing I've ever seen to an ice storm. I'm sure they're far less exciting in places like Texas, where they are much more common, but it was pretty awe inspiring here. It lasted for about 2 days! I was worried about our trees, some of which still had all their leaves. But, while some of our neighbors weren't so lucky, all of our trees survived. I got out and got some pictures of the freeze. Reagan was still in her PJs, so I let her stand in the door to monitor my progress.

Breckin is becoming a little less easy-going these days. For whatever reason, he has decided that he no longer wants to participate in naps during the day. I'm not complaining...he sleeps for 11 hours at night, but my house and my OTHER child could seriously use some attention. He wants to be held all the time. I don't mind so much, but you can only go so long without doing the dishes or laundry, and unfortunately both are tasks which require two hands. With all his being awake, I realized that almost all the pictures of the little guy I've taken are of him being, well, awake. So, two days ago I snuggled him up and got him to close his eyes in front of the camera for a few minutes...and the result, in my opinion, is pretty precious.

But when I say I got him to sleep for a minute, I think it was literally that...a minute. Next thing I knew he was wide awake again. So, I figured I'd make the most of it and take my chance to show off his chub.

And, of course, since I had the camera out anyway, I had to get a couple of the cutest 2 (and a half) year old girl ever.

Jim and I took the kiddos up to Fort Collins to visit our friends Brad and Kim. Reagan had a blast playing with their kids, and even did surprisingly well sleeping in B & K's daughter's bed. We also got to stop on the way home and see one of my best friends, Leslie.

Reagan had a special visitor all the way from California. Jim's cousin Katie sent us her Flat Stanley! I have always wanted someone to send us a Flat Stanley...and I'm so excited that I have cute kids so that other cute kids want to send us one! If you don't know about Flat Stanley, he's a VERY cool way for elementary school-aged children to learn about history, language, geography, etc. Thanks for picking us, Katie!!

After going back to work for a week, I get to have another two weeks off. It makes transitioning back into work a little tough. But, I'm SO glad I was able to go half time. It is really wonderful to be able to come home and still have the majority of my day to spend with the kids! Now if we could just get Breckin to consistently take his bottle...
